Kiev College of Light Industry is one of the oldest educational institutions in Ukraine, which trains junior specialists for industry enterprises.

Founded in 1930 on the basis of a shoemaking school.

In September 1955, the technical school was renamed the Kiev Technical School of Light Industry.

Several generations of teachers, industrial training masters, workers and employees accumulated significant work experience and created the necessary material base to ensure a high level of training of specialists for sectors of the national economy.

Today, the Kiev College of Light Industry is a modern educational institution that trains specialists in the following specialties:

  • design (clothes, shoes);
  • production of leather goods;
  • organization of production;
  • clothing industry;
  • Accounting.

Specialties

Specialty: Design of clothing, shoes and leather goods

Qualification: " Artist- constructor (designer)"

Training period:

  • 2 years 10 months (11 grades),
  • 3 years 10 months (9 grades).

A junior specialist is trained to work at industrial enterprises, firms, institutions of various forms of ownership, trade and other institutions.

Graduates are assigned a working profession:

  • cutter;

Qualification: Production organizer

Training period:

  • 2 years 6 months (11th grade),
  • 3 years 6 months (9th grade).

Junior specialists are trained to work in production and non-production enterprises of all forms of ownership.

Capable of holding the following positions:

  • assistant for main activities;
  • assistant to the head of the production department,
  • driver of the main unit;
  • assistant manager of a small enterprise without management staff;
  • inspector for monitoring the execution of orders;
  • HR inspector;
  • HR organizer;

  • supply agent, dispatcher.

During training, a specialist gains knowledge from various fields of knowledge, including social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, law, skills in working with computer equipment and with business papers.

At the same time, the specialist receives the profession “Computer Typing Operator”.

Specialty: Accounting

Qualification: Accountant

Training period:

  • 1 year 10 months (11th grade),
  • 2 years 10 months (9th grade).

A junior specialist is able to occupy the following positions:

  • cash manager;
  • accountant;
  • cashier - expert;
  • inspector;
  • inventory inspector;
  • inspector-auditor;
  • auditor.

Specialists receive knowledge in the humanities, natural sciences, foreign languages ​​of a professional nature, are fluent in computer technology, specialized accounting programs (in particular “1C Accounting”) and management skills.

Students undergo internships in leading companies in Kyiv and regions of Ukraine, namely in banks, financial institutions, and enterprises of various forms of ownership.

Specialty: Sewing production

Qualification: Technologist

Training period:

  • 2 years 10 months (11th grade), 3 years 10 months (9th grade);
  • 2 years 8 months (part-time),
  • 1 year 8 months (correspondence) for graduates of vocational schools.

A junior specialist is trained to work at industry enterprises of all forms of ownership.

The specialist is able to occupy the following primary positions:

  • technologist;

  • master of industrial training;

  • process design technician;
  • designer of footwear and leather goods;
  • merchandiser;
  • production preparation technician;
  • production site foreman.

Graduates are assigned working professions:

  • shoe collector;
  • shoe upper assembler;
  • shoe tightener;
  • material cutter.

State higher education institution was formed in 1930 in accordance with the order of the People's Commissariat of Education of the Supreme Economic Council of the Ukrainian SSR No. 552 dated 08/04/1930 on the site of the school of shoe specialists FZO No. 2. Until 1935 it was called shoe-mechanical technical school and had two divisions - technological and mechanical.


During the Second World War, the technical school was moved to Novosibirsk. After returning from exile, the activities of the university resumed, first the material base was formed, the range of specialist training was increased, the institution was awarded the name Kyiv Shoe College.

In 1952, another hostel was created on the street. Chigorina, 4, where all students of the technical school had the opportunity to live, there were sewing workshops on the second floor. At the same time, training in the qualification “Sewing production” takes place.

In 1955, a new educational building was opened on the street. I. Kudri, 29, today’s actual address, and the technical school changed the sign to Kyiv College of Light Industry.

The growing demand for the chemical industry led to the formation in 1956 of the new qualification “Technology of artificial and chemical fibers”, and in 1958 - “Equipment of chemical fiber factories” and “Creation of footwear and leather decoration”.

Taking into account the needs of the historical period, since 1963 the technical school has provided training in the categories “Creation and design of clothing” and “Equipment of clothing factories”, and since 1966, for the first time among all technical schools, “Planning in light industry enterprises” and since 1969 “Accounting” accounting".


In 1958, one of the leading technical schools in Ukraine began work on the social rehabilitation of disabled people, and trained professionals for the Ukrainian Society of the Deaf (UOG).

From 1971 to 1994, the technical school trained specialists for Mongolia, Cuba, Laos, Afghanistan, Bolivia, and Jordan.

In 2007, the technical school changed its name to .

In 2011 received another accreditation, trains specialists at four faculties of full-time and part-time study in the following qualifications:

Creation of leather goods;

Clothing industry;

Design (clothes, shoes);

Organization of production;

Accounting.

The number of students is 925 people. All professions are characterized by a certain educational, methodological and material staffing. The college contains in its arsenal 1 working dormitory and 1 under construction; the main structural branch is training and production workshops.

Currently, the college is the only educational institution in Ukraine with qualification levels I-II, which produces specialists in a unique profession - “Footwear Design”. Students with disabilities receive education at the college, among them: hearing impaired - 129 people; disabled children - 11 people.

Students there are young people from all over Ukraine, Kiev and Sevastopol, he is the second mother for 14 orphan students.

Many generations of teachers, industrial training specialists, workers and employees have gained significant work experience, accumulated the necessary material base, and carried out a high level of training of specialists for the areas of the national economy.
